Through the WPML Job Board I found a very interesting project to customise the multilingual KOSOVAideas crowdfunding platform.

The customisations that the client was looking to achieve were to show a list of all backers of a certain campaign, regardless of the language. Also some of the labels and headings needed to be changed, as well as some texts on the donation forms.

The site relies heavily on a theme/plugin combination, both of which have been coded in a quite complicated way and without hooks or filters to facilitate customisations. The silver lining was that the donation system has been set up with WooCommerce, which does come with plenty of hooks and filters to do customisations.

With some creative hacking I managed to implement the wishes of the client and all is working as intended now.
